Katy Mercedes is an emerging collage artist, here in Seattle. She has been perfecting
her craft for two years and has found some exciting opportunities to display her art for the public. All of her traditional collages are one of a kind, in hand made frames of recycled materials. She delightfully makes her collages, and prides herself in finding ways to make light and colors work with pieces of paper, artfully placed. Her collages have been described as absurdist, glamourous, equestrian, quirky & beautiful. Influences an favorites include:
jewel tones, light sources, composition, dreams, biology, animals, shiny objects, vintage, and the ordinary.

Emily Alice Peck‘s Encaustic paintings.  Here’s what Emily has to say about her work:

Painting is my perhaps narrow perspective, organic shapes observed in the everyday.
“a softer world that doesn’t hurt the eyes and ears or clutter the mind”
Using modern abstract lines and impulsive color.
The technique is using a fresco base, etched lines, acrylic, clay and milk paints finished with layers of wax.
I have been developing this technique over the last 3 years .
It came only from trial and patience.
Growing up in the midwest, maybe why expressing yourself through the works of your hands is what i love,
forming something from nothing; surprising even myself with what comes
the honesty of me that some how seeps through such simplicity .
